About Him creator and author, Tyson Anthony has really been on a roll this year with his original series and the debut of his own network, Tyson Anthony Plus. Late this summer he debuted Ellenwood, a drama that focused on young men growing up in a neighborhood that was anything but peaceful. However, one of the most complex story lines was between two sons and their father–tumultuous, distrustful, and chaotic to say the least.

In his latest series, Honest Men, Tyson explores father-son relationships while simultaneously exploring sexuality.

The series centers on three men, Colby (King David) a prodigal son dealing with his father’s death. Colby is clearly suffering from “words left unspoken;” angry and bitter over how things soured between him and his father, but not really knowing how to express his grief or anger. He is, however, interested in his next door neighbor, Mark (Donta Hensley).  Mark is a man renowned for his temper and violence, but saw Colby’s father as someone to be loved and respected. Lastly, we have JT (Tripp Ali), a father with a son soon to enter college. JT is also quite the explorer at night when it comes to his sexuality or alone time.

Honest Men stands to arguably be Tyson’s most intriguing web series to date. How? You might ask? Simple, the series explores one of the most basic, but at times trying type of familial bonds. Sons can either be shadows of their fathers or updated, upgraded versions of them. As parents–or good parents, to say the least–you should strive to ensure your children have all of your strengths and none of your weakness.

The paradigm of love, respect, manhood, and honesty serve as stark contrast to earlier web series Tyson has produced. These are MEN. They already know who they are, thus there is no need for a “coming of age story” or the angst and drama that stems from that. Instead demons of the past and realities of the present are proving problematic for them. King David, Donta, and Tripp all seem to be seasoned, earthy men. It only makes the dialogue and their outstanding performances in Honest Men that much more rewarding and believable. Simply put, we cannot wait to see more!

All and all, we stand to watch a web series that not only entertains, but makes each of us do some serious introspection. Kudos Tyson Anthony, kudos! You can see Honest Menhere! and more series by Tyson Anthony by subscribing

Flash forward to this past Monday and the second season premiere; and not only have one of the series’ regulars been gunned down, but there is more mayhem, drama, and of course DANCE SEQUENCES! Yes this web series stands out in the Web World has being the only series incorporating dance and choreography, much in the same way the cast of Glee broke out in cover songs! This season premiere was the place to be as the event was attended by a few stars of the Web World including Ryan “Rah Rah” Kennedy (Living 4 The Weekend, LIT, House Boys), Lando King (Hurt, About Him: South Africa, Kingdom Heights), Toni Bryce (Twisted, Girls), Tramel Harris (G-Status ATL Hustle, The Corporate Mouth), Carl Levonzell (Twisted 2: Family Secrets, The Corporate Mouth) and our very own Michael “Hey Mikey” Fanning.

We have to say this was the best web series screening/event we have yet to attend; setting a new bar. There was food, drink, music, dance routines, and an impromptu dance competition that would put most ballroom “kidz” to shame! The Category was “Dance Realness” and they SERVED!

Grade: A+

What We Liked:

-The cast consisted of a slew of new actors we have never seen. FRESH MEAT!

-The cinematography, sound, and lighting were on point. A lot of thought was put into the details of this series.

-Seeing Rah Rah Kennedy! Anything he is in is always worth watching!

What We Loved:

Christopher Emerson

-THE DANCE SEQUENCES! No other web series is doing this. More so, they were completely on point. The choreography was fresh and new. We felt like we were watching a mainstream music video!

-Christopher Emerson is amazing! His dancing style is so smooth and it flows.

-The acting in the series was on point, you definitely need to binge watch the first season. Trust us you won’t regret it!

-Antonio Mincey’s message of horizontal networking/”reaching across the table” with people on your level to make bigger moves.

What We Hated:

-Absolutely NOTHING!

(Singing) “Once upon a time not long ago I was ‘H.O.E.!'” Sorry guys but we are not talking Mariah Lynn this time. Instead our crosshairs and gaze are set on AConnectionTV’s new hit web series, H.O.E! The series is directed by Toni Bernard (About Him Season 2: The Revolution, Red Carpet Hashtags & Heartbreak) and created and written by Wesley Henderson (Culture Clubb, The Mona Samone Show, While You Sleep) is set in Atlanta and centers on a trio of friends, Hawk (Rodney Glover), O‘Neil (Ryan K. Sanders), and Elizabeth (Tiya Rene’e). Together the first letters of their names make the acronym of “H.O.E.”

Hawk is Instagram famous with a knack for having casual and selfish sex with his followers (Yeah he’s an asshole). Meanwhile, O’Neil is a hopeless romantic determined to not be a gay, promiscuous stereotype all while struggling to move away from his ex-boyfriend Chance (Ryan Marcus) when the latter cheats on him. Finally, Elizabeth loves the ladies and gents and is perfectly comfortable with and casual about dating multiple people at once. The three friends tackle life and love in Atlanta while struggling to maintain their own near familial bond. The series as a whole will have you questioning what makes anyone a hoe, and you may even question are you a hoe? Overall the series actually has a story and you will find it refreshing to finally see a web series sprinkled sex and not a porn with dialogue! -The story line was unique and actually tells a story. There is not a single series in the Web World like H.O.E. Trust me we checked and it is REFRESHING.

-The show definitely runs off an Insecure vibe at times, especially when Hawk is on the scene.

-The locations and shots of Atlanta definitely did our city justice.

Corey Knott

As you may already know HD Productions has proven itself to be quite the powerhouse this year under Corey Knott’s guidance, earning a slew of awards from the National Youth Pride Services (NYPS) in a host of categories. Corey reveals that he feels LIT has run its course and that he now would like to make content that will appeal to a wider audience of viewers. “There’s a lot of talent here at HD Productions and I want my actors to have all the opportunities I know they deserve. That means working on more content that appeals to more people and hiring quality talent. I want to move away from just Instagram stars and people with a following…”

We wholeheartedly agree with Corey’s vision for HD Productions, but are really going to miss LIT! The series had an amazingly sexy cast both seasons with beaus like Zahfar, Justen Ruff, Rashad Lawrence, Gorgious Montana, Sherrod Willis, and Mustang. Corey has revealed to us there are a number of new series he will be debuting in January that he is sure will be runaway hits.
