#ShotsFired! Will Packer (@willpowerpacker) & Aaron McGruder (@aaronmcgruder23) Create "Black America" Series on Amazon (@amazon) As HBO Gears Up For "Confederate!"

Petty and power are going hand in hand as the controversy on television is only about to heat up. Then when you add the current racial climate of the country you just know things are about to blow up! As you may recall, the creators of HBO’s Game Of Thrones announced they were creating a new series after their current hit show ends known as Confederate. The new series is set in an alternate universe where the Confederate States of America (The South) successfully seceded from The Union (The North) and slavery still exists. It answer a “What If” question that Black America is not happy with! Thousands of people took to Twitter to voice their outrage with HBO for even thinking of creating such a controversial series, but all this buzz may fall on mute ears. Those mute ears will not be director, Will Packer’s, or Boondocks creator, Aaron McGruder!

The pair are creating  their own alternate universe series of the United States where African-Americans received reparations after the Civil War called Black America! The series has been in the works for over a year and  is set to be on Amazon Drama and already it too is causing controversy.

We have to admit, both “alternate universe” stories are interesting. If for no other reason they might shed some light on just how different this country could have been with one historical outcome or decision. However, we are not with anything that honors the evils of The Confederacy and slavery! You all lost the war–GET OVER IT! As for Packer’s new series, we definitely want to see what the hype is about and hope it will not be any “shucking, jiving, or coonery.” There’s enough of that with Black people on regular television nowadays.

What do you guys think? Confederate and Black America, will you be watching? Sound off in the comments section below!

Her Power! Busiswa (@busiswaah) is Busy w/ The Beyhive!

A lot of us are raised listening to certain artist or certain genres. We are then conditioned to compare these artist to others just to realize that they are all unique in their own way. In 2014, I booked a ticket to South Africa and while I was there I got invited to a New Years event. The venue was outside and there were thousands of South Africans anxiously waiting. The whole crew and I went through VIP where we ran into several South African artist. None more important than Busiswa Gqulu.

The whole crew and I went through VIP where we ran into several South African artist. None more important than Busiswa Gqulu.

Busi was born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She was very well-mannered and super sweet to me. That changed suddenly when she was called to the stage to perform. When I tell y’all she ate it, she finished the whole plate! The energy she gave on stage was unlike any I had seen. Her authenticity completely shined through, backup dancers were on point, and though I couldn’t understand most of her lyrics I was thoroughly entertained.

Busiswa feat. DJ Buckz “Lahla”

The first song I ever heard from Busi was “Lahla”. Like I said before I didn’t understand most of the song initially but that did not stop me from moving my body. The song is super catchy and coming from America it has all the African flavor I need. Plus the dancing in the video is EVERYTHING. I see you Ashwin Bosman.

Prince Kaybee ft Busiswa & TNS “Banomoya”

Now I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know the English translation for any of these lyrics and honestly I don’t need them. The video and song make me feel like I’m in Black Panther 3. Busi slays again and I am completely here for my chocolate sister setting the whole mood. This track is super smooth and easy to love.

Beyonce feat Moonchild, Busiswa, Tierra Whack & Nija – My Power

If you haven’t heard Beyonce’s latest album then shame on you. But never fear I do have a track from the album called “My Power”. While listening to the song you can instantly point out Busiswa. Her swag is always felt in whatever song she’s in. Sometimes African music can be mistaken for not being modern. This is not that and not to take anything away from Bey but Busi completely delivered and set the tone for the whole track in my opinion. This is one of my favorite songs to date and my personal favorite on the album.

I am so proud of Busi! It is very hard to become mainstream in Africa and mama is making it look so damn easy. Follow her now before its too late. Long story short if you don’t know about Busiswa, you better catch up. Beyonce has.

“Pose” Star Indya Moore Claps Back at Claudia Jordan Over Perceived Transphobic Comments!

It is never a good look or a good time when two ladies we love so much are at odds on such a controversial topic. Apparently, Pose star and trans activist, Indya Moore, is displeased with Claudia Jordan’s recent comments and questions concerning transgender people. In fact, she has outright declared Claudia’s comments and inquiries to be transphobic and off center to more important issues in the trans community; like the high number of murders of transgender women of color.

Claudia Jordan

The tift began when Claudia tweeted the following after her interview with actor Malik Yoba, who recently revealed he is attracted to transgender women and came onto her radio show, The All New Morning Rush on 105.7 Dallas, for an interview and to discuss the forthcoming Visibility March set for September 28th in Washington, D.C.

As you can see above Indya, as a transgender woman,  was offended. When it comes to interaction with transgender people it is considered rude and offensive to bring up their genitalia as it relates to their gender identity. This can be especially offensive coming from a cisgender (denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex) person.

Indya’s retort including the murder of so many transgender women of color, the most recent being a seventeen year old girl who found tied up and burned to death in a car is heart wrenching and timely. Claudia may have been genuinely asking from a place of trying to understand, but with a topic that sensitive and still taboo, she should have done some research surrounding the etiquette needed when discussing this subject matter. Indya recently wore earrings with portraits of all the aforementioned murdered transgender women this year. We hope these two can come to a place of understanding over this issue. They are both such fun, beautiful, and talented women!

You can catch Claudia’s entire interview with on Smooth R&B 105.7’s radio’s site. Check out snippets of the interview below:

Hosea Chanchez, age 14, when he was molested by his friend’s father

I’m Hosea Chanchez and when I was 14 years old I was molested BY my friends father. This man is a predator, preying on children who’s trust he’s falsely built through lies, manipulation, threats and secrets. I hope this truth helps to stop child molesting predators from sexually assaulting more children. Pedophiles have no place in our society they hide in the open and rape children who are afraid to speak up because of shame, guilt, fear, denial and the thought that no one will believe them. I’m doing this to help parents and young children become aware of some of the signs and better protect themselves from sexual predators. (Swipe to read my TRUTH)

Check out the slides below:

We are so glad Hosea found the courage to come forward with this information. What happened to him is just wrong and depraved. We are sure there will be more to this story now that he has actually named his assailant. Sadly, there may be more children this man harmed. Let’s keep Hosea in our prayers.
