We really wish this was “fake news” Trump style, but the news is in and Fox has indeed canceled Star after three seasons. The hit series based on the girl group, Take 3, set in Atlanta saw its final episode this past Wednesday in its third season finale, rife with cliffhangers. These cliffhangers included the murder of one character and several other characters being shot and possibly killed during a wedding scene between Destiny and Brown’s characters, Alex and Derek.

star on fox season 3 canceled

After the Disney-Fox deal was finalized, this meant that Star’s studio, 20th Century Fox TV would now be under Disney, and no longer at Fox. So this new ownership likely had a lot to do with this decision. Also, it helps that all of the Fox co-owns all of the new projects it ordered to series. Plus, the show is said to be costly to produce in general. But, alas, as popular as Empire was a few years back when it was shattering TV records week after week, it is wild to think that any spinoff of the show (or the show itself) would be in any sort of danger before a fifth or sixth season.

Led by Queen Latifah and featuring a soundtrack of original music and musical performances, Lee Daniels’ drama series Star followed three talented singers (played by Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady), desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom as they navigate the cutthroat music business on their road to success. The show also starred Amiyah Scott, Miss Lawrence, Luke James, Lance Gross, Brandy, Quincy Brown and Evan Ross.

We were happy to hear Disney was purchasing Twentieth Century Fox, namely because it meant Marvel Studios would now have access to other iconic superhero teams like the X-Men and Fantastic Four, and even Deadpool. This really hurts. The series is now being shopped to other networks. Let’s hope Star finds a new home elsewhere.

[VIDEO] The CW’s “Arrow” Airs Series Finale Tonight! The Cast Sends Their Goodbyes

It is hard to believe it has been eight years since Stephen Amell donned the “Green Arrow/Oliver Queen” costume and persona to become one of television’s greatest superheroes in “Arrow.” The series has greatly impacted television, spawning a network of spinoff and related series, known as the “Arrowverse,” which has grown to encompass every DC Comics-related television series spanning over six decades into a multiverse. Now, tonight, the show that began it all–that connects it all–will air its final episode.

“Arrow” cast, Season 8

We hate to see the cast of “Arrow” go as it is has brought some of comics’ most popular or obscure superheroes, (besides Green Arrow) like Black Canary (Dinah Drake, Dinah Laurel Lance), Ragman, The Atom (Ray Palmer), Mr. Terrific, Huntress, Red Arrow, Speedy, etc. Stephen, himself, took to Instagram with the following statement regarding the end of his show:

The cast of “Arrow” also created a send off video from “TV Guide.” Check it out below:

Stephen and the rest of the cast will be greatly missed, but we are sure this is not the last we have seen of them in the Arrowverse.

Also, as above mentioned, the sequel/spinoff to the series set in 2040, “Green Arrow & The Canaries” is set to start this Fall. It will center on Oliver Queen’s daughter, Mia Smoak, as she becomes the new Green Arrow, assisted by both Black Canary and Black Siren.

We want to say thank you to The CW and the cast of “Arrow” for some amazing stories and this amazing universe it leaves behind. We wish you all the absolute best!

It Continues…”Lifetime” Prepares “Surviving Jeffrey Epstein!”

Lifetime definitely scored mega ratings with its hit docu-series, “Surviving R. Kelly.” The series has been praised and criticized for taking down the R&B singer and building a case against him for the sexual exploitation of dozens of women across the country. However, many feel like the series and R. Kelly’s subsequent indictments were just low hanging fruit, and other, more prolific predators need to be taken down. Thus Lifetime’s next docuseries is “Surviving Jeffrey Epstein!”

However, many feel like the series and R. Kelly’s subsequent indictments were just low hanging fruit, and other, more prolific predators need to be taken down. Thus Lifetime’s next docuseries is “Surviving Jeffrey Epstein!”

Jeffrey Epstein, as you may recall, is a financier and convicted sex offender who attained young women, many of them underage, for himself and his elite social circle to sexually abuse.

Variety writes that the announcement was shared at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday. The docuseries was initially declared to be in development last summer and is expected to air on Lifetime this summer.

Epstein was arrested in 2019 and accused of sexually assaulting and trafficking multiple underage girls. A lot of eyes were on the case due to the fact that he mingled with a number of powerful people in Washington D.C. and beyond.

He had been charged with such crimes before, receiving a soft plea deal in 2008 from former U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, who resigned as the U.S. Labor Secretary when the specifics behind the deal surfaced during Epstein’s new arrest.

In August, Epstein died in his cell in a New York detention center in an alleged suicide, though many have theorized that he was murdered.

Surviving Jeffrey Epstein will come from Emmy-winner Robert Friedman’s Bungalow Media + Entertainment and will be directed by Anne Sundberg and Ricki Stern. Christopher Mason—a contributor to The New York Times, New York Magazine, Town & Country and Architectural Digest—is also attached to the project. Shura Davidson and Gena McCarthy will executive produce.

We wonder what celebrities, if any, are involved with this documentary. Being that he committed suicide, and his connections, run deep, we hope they are operating with the utmost caution!
