Everything was not as poppin’ as it should be. First of all, we love Katy Perry dearly, but she should never again be allowed to host any awards show. She is corny, not  funny, and would have served better doing more performances last night to give the people a taste of what her upcoming tour will look like. Still, the performances saved the show. Kendrick Lamar was the superhero of performances last night visually, performing two of his hit singles, DNA and Humble. Check out his performance below!

Pink, the recipient of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, stayed true to her style and performed in the air–atop a convertible, albeit! Her medley of past hits definitely oozed with early 2000’s nostalgia. Still we wish she would have done some of her more historic hits like most Girls and Just Like A Pill. You can catch her acceptance speech below!

Other highlights of the night include Taylor Swift (even though she did not show up) debuting her new music video, Look What You Made Me Do; a true nod to the VMAs and consisting of past and present versions of herself.

We love how Nicki Minaj finally jumped in on a performance when she and Katy did Swish Swish. We definitely think it’s time for the former to debut a new album though, some of these other female rappers are “Making money moves!”

The night was full of amazement and we want to congratulate all the winners! Check them out on the next page!

We love a good viral video show! Usually “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Jackass,” or “Ridiculousness” come into mind when we think of them. Thus, we hope this is the beginning of a new gig for Nick and new show for Fox. It will definitely bring some diversity to the content of the network. As you may already know Fox is largely dramas, a few comedies, animated series, and reality shows.

These talented contestants have worked for major brands and dressed A-list celebrities, and will now compete head-to-head to see who has the skill, originality and determination to win the grand prize: $250,000 and an opportunity to debut their collection with luxury fashion retailer Net-a-Porter.

Next in Fashion is created and produced by theoldschool and is Executive Produced by Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton with co-Executive Producer Adam Cooper.

Additional Details:

  • Co-Hosts: Tan France and Alexa Chung

  • Guest Judges: Elizabeth Stewart and Eva Chen are recurring guest judges with additional guest judges to be announced at a later date

  • Executive Producers:  Robin Ashbrook, Yasmin Shackleton and co-executive producer Adam Cooper

  • Season 1 # of episodes: 10

Netflix is really moving into a new frontier with its reality series. As you recall, earlier this year the network debuted “Rhythm + Flow,” a music competition series to rave reviews. The magic, however, lies in the qualified judges, and in the case of “Next in Fashion” we definitely trust Tun and Alexa! Stargirl is Courtney Whitmore, a teenage girl armed with “The Cosmic Staff” a weapon that allows her to manipulate and generate various forms of energy and fly. Aided by her stepfather, S.T.R.I.P.E., a former sidekick to the original Starman, she takes on crime and intergalactic threats.

Brec Bessinger as “Stargirl”

Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. The project focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

“There is no other character in comic books more special to me than Stargirl, and after searching far and wide I can say there is no other actor on the planet that embodies her more than Brec Bassinger,” said Johns back when the series was announced. “Brec’s warmth, strength, humor and positive energy are core to who Courtney Whitmore is. I’m so grateful she’s signed on for the role.”

We are here for this Stargirl series. She is one DC Comics more obscure heroines, but is nonetheless a powerhouse. She definitely fits in with The CW’s demography and we can see this being a true hit. What do you guys think of this new superhero series? Will you be watching?
