This has been one busy week for Disney!

The beloved company that serves as the home of iconic characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck has been making power plays by attempting to add 21st Century Fox shows and movies to its roster, and is now announcing ALL future Marvel shows will air exclusively on a new Disney streaming service!

Several months ago, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the company would be launching its very own streaming service which is expected to launch in 2019. Disney also revealed their intention to produce their own original content for the service, including films and TV series, which leaves Netflix’s Disney produced Marvel shows in an awkward position.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal (via /Film), any future Marvel shows will play exclusively on Disney’s streaming service, and although there’s no word on whether Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher will be following them, it’s probably a good bet that they will at some point. The WSJ also confirms that Disney’s attempt to purchase much of Twentieth Century Fox was part of their plan to compete with Netflix. “[W]e’ve turned our attention to the one platform seeing growth challenges,” Disney Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Mayer said in the WSJ article. “That’s the television platform.” Had the Fox deal gone ahead, it would have given Disney control of much of Fox’s TV shows, which they likely would have then moved over to their streaming service. Mayer added that he doesn’t think of Disney’s new service as “an anti-Netflix move,” but rather as a “pro-Disney move.” Bringing all of Disney’s movies and TV shows under one roof won’t be cheap, as the WSJ claims that it will end up costing Disney more then $300 million a year.

Honestly we do not care where the new Marvel shows air as long as Disney keeps making them! It is rumored that new superheroes getting their own shows on Disney’s streaming service will include Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, and Ms. Marvel. We will keep you posted!

The satirical series — based onthe acclaimed 2014 film by the same name – continues to follow a group of Winchester University students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and activism in the millennial age. Through an absurdist lens, Dear White People utilizes biting irony, self-deprecation and sometimes brutal honesty to hold up a mirror to the issues plaguing society today, all the while leading with laughter.

La La Anthony

The world met La La Anthony when she was a sixteen-year-old radio co-host with famed rapper Ludacris on 97.1 in Atlanta, GA. Her success in radio quickly led to a career in television, where she became the host of MTV’s Direct Effect and TRL at the peak of its 90’s popularity. In 2001, she made her acting debut in the romantic comedy Two Can Play At That Game. Viewers couldn’t get enough of La La. In 2010, she married NBA phenomenon Carmelo Anthony on VH1’s reality show “La La’s Wedding,” which immediately spawned another hit show, “La La’s Full Court Life.”

The public’s interest in her budding romance led her to write and publish the New York Times best-selling book, “The Love Playbook,” which she followed with “The Power Playbook” in 2015. The La La brand continued to grow with her stage debut in the Off-Broadway show, “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” the launch of a cosmetic and clothing line, and the landing of a recurring role on the Starz hit show, “Power”. Through all the fame and success, La La never forgot her roots. The Brooklyn-born Puerto Rican now spends her time on perhaps her most personal mission yet – working to revive Puerto Rico after the devastating damage caused from Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Check out a clip of her appearance on Uncensored below:
