No NFL Teams Have Reached Out to Kaepernick Since His Workout

We really wish we could say we are surprised to report this, but no NFL teams have reached out to Colin Kaepernick since his workout last week.

We really wish we could say we are surprised to report this, but no NFL teams have reached out to Colin Kaepernick since his workout last week.

Kaepernick definitely showed he still has the skills, form, and shape to play in the NFL, but that has not seemed to lift their exclusion of him.

As of Sunday, Kaepernick is still looking for a roster spot. According to the ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kaepernick’s team sent out footage of his work out to the 25 franchises that weren’t present for his session at Charles R. Drew High School in Riverdale, Georgia. The teams haven’t extended any offers.

Following his workout, sources claimed that teams were interested in moving forward with Kaepernick. Initially, insiders speculated that it could take weeks for him to anchor a contract. Now, it’s rumored that nothing is expected to be presented to the quarterback.

Kaepernick decided to forgo the NFL orchestrated workout in exchange for the session that was held in Riverdale. When it was first presented to the public, Kaepernick was scheduled to work out in front of 25 NFL teams at the Falcons’ practice facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia. The NFL also promised to send footage of his workout to the other franchises that weren’t in attendance. But Kaepernick cited issues with a liability waiver and media availability as the motive for him to move the session to a venue that was nearly an hour away.

The NFL released a statement following Kaepernick’s decision that claimed it was informed of the move at the same time as the media and it was “disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout.”

The venue change had a polarizing response NFL fans and analysts. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and the Panthers’ Eric Reid went back-and-forth about the topic after Smith stated that Kaepernick’s motive was to merely “control the narrative.”

Whether Colin is picked up or not he is still a hero for Black and Brown people everywhere who have been victims of police brutality. This man simply took a knee in protest. All we can do is shake our heads and in the words of Phaedra Parks say, “Fix it Jesus.”

#DamageControl! Jay-Z Allegedly Pressured NFL Commissioner to Hold Workout w/ Kaepernick B/c His Reputation Took a Hit After Announcing Roc Nation Partnership

Optics is the “name of the game” as it is being reported that Jay-Z allegedly pushed the NFL Commissioner to hold a workout for Colin Kaepernick to repair his reputation.

As you may recall, Jay-Z’s reputation took a hit when his company Roc Nation partnered with the NFL. The rapper/mogul was labeled a sellout and even harsher, a “race traitor,” by some of his staunchest supporters.

According to my source, JAY-Z said that he took a reputational bullet for the commissioner when they had that press conference [with] his new role in the NFL,” Patrick said on The Dan Patrick Show, referencing the criticism JAY faced when the partnership was first announced. “Social agenda. Social injustice. He was gonna help with the entertainment for halftime. All of this. My source said that JAY-Z was pressuring the commissioner to do the right thing and have this workout for Colin Kaepernick.”

He continued, “JAY-Z said, ‘Hey, look, I don’t want to be viewed as a sellout here. Now those are my words, not his, but he was saying ‘reputational bullet.’” In a follow-up tweet, Patrick added that other sources have called the “JAY-Z narrative” another “distraction to take away from the opportunity facilitated by the NFL for Colin Kaepernick.”

We are just happy to see Colin is getting the workout he deserves. We are not going to trick ourselves into believing that he will get signed by a NFL team, especially since some of them are backing out. However, I guess in Jay-Z’s case it will be the “effort” that counts.

5 Reasons The Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) Will Win a Championship By 2025!

The NBA season is here and this year might be the most intriguing NBA season I’ve ever witnessed. There are legit 10 teams who could win the championship this year but what about everyone else… If you haven’t paid attention to the Atlanta Hawks this off-season what I’m gonna say next might throw you off. The Atlanta Hawks WILL win a championship in 5 years!

ATL Hawks

5. ATLANTA SPORTS STINK

I know what some of you are thinking, Atlanta sports teams are never consistent, let alone known for closing out series or games. From the delusional Braves, who need to trade Freddie Freeman for better pitching, to the Atlanta Falcons who look just down right terrible, Atlanta at this point is cursed. That was until the Atlanta Hawks revamped their 60 win team from years ago and now have a young core of players they can build with for the future. The spirits are telling me the tide is changing.

Former ATL Hawks

4. THIS TEAM HAS MORE TALENT NOW THAN EVER BEFORE.

When I think of the Atlanta Hawks over the years the best players have been Dominique Wilkins, Joe Johnson, and Al Horford. Respectable but now they have players at all 5 positions that could become Atlanta Greats. ATL now has “premium” players in their starting line up. Trae Young in my eyes is a SUPERSTAR! John Collins has crazy potential and freakish athleticism. Kevin Huerter is Klay Thompson 2.0 and with the rookies joining the squad the Atlanta Hawks will have enough talent to make the playoffs in the weakened east.

3. COACH LLOYD PIERCE

After Coach Bud bolted out of Atlanta, the Hawks had to hire the perfect coach for the perfect rebuild. I do believe Pierce is that coach. I was impressed with the play calling from the previous year and the development of last years rookies. I don’t see why this year would be any different. Deandre Hunter is the most NBA ready but I can see all of their rookies contributing.

2. THE BENCH

I’ve never been a fan of the Hawks starters from previous years so you could only imagine how I felt about their bench. Jabari Parker. Chandler Parsons. Evan Turner. All coming off the bench for ATL this year is TONS better than before. If the rookies and starters improve even a little, paired with this bench, I do believe Atlanta will be sixth seed or higher.

1. Trae Young

I am so tired of people discrediting Trae Young. “He a fake Steph” …. “He ain’t gone last all year” …. “A bust” … Young has responded. He is hands down a bonefide STAR.  If he isn’t double teamed immediately he will embarrass you. He may not be Steph Curry yet … but he’s Curry-ish with Steve Nash’s passing ability. He averaged 19.4 points last year and this year I’m expecting him to average a little over 25. He’s that special and soon the rest of the world will know.

Conclusion:

If the Hawks make it to the playoffs this year i would be projecting success from the rookies which I expect to continue over time. With everyone reaching their potential ATL will be in the Eastern Conference Finals within 3 – 5 years. NO DOUBT and WILL BRING A RING TO ATLANTA!
