Labor Day is here and that means Atlanta Pride 2017 is almost over. Our beloved city was chalked full of LGBT friendly venues and festivities that catered to the thousands of people nationwide who came to express their pride and celebrate the freedom of loving whomever they love!

We hobnobbed at a number of festivities this Pride weekend, but none held a candle in the wind to Impulse Atlanta’s Advocacy Brunch!

The fun, mingling, and and harmonious event took place at Park Tavern’s Luster Lounge in Piedmont Park. There, dozens of men and women came out for what turned out to be a truly momentous event. The festivities began the moment you walk through the door, where you were greeted by Rigardo Rush (Rig), Impulse Atlanta’s marketing director and handed off tickets for a raffle. Almost immediately after you enter you met two sexy models clad in sneakers, sexy underwear, and GLITTER! All guests were encouraged to add their own glitter to the models and then it was brunch time!

Brunch was absolutely delicious with a spread fit for a king–eggs benedict and scrambled, sausage, cheese grits, various fruits, salad, and unlimited mimosas! After mixing and mingling (There were some really amazing patrons there!) it was time for a raffle. Hosted by Rig, this was (unsurprisingly) no ordinary raffle.

The winners had to either answer a deeply personal question or play some fun, freaky game! Even our own Michael “Hey Mikey” Fanning found himself participating. Even though the event was a lot of fun, it was also equally informative. HIV prevention and education were at the forefront, along with informing patrons of the many services offered by Impulse Atlanta.

Mikey with Rigardo Rush, Marketing Director for Impulse Atlanta

“…We had an amazing turn out today, but our  events are usually a hit. We want people to come out, mix,  mingle, and have a good time while learning something…we want to provide an elevated experience for people of all walks of life–straight,  gay, allies, family, friends–it’s all about togetherness with our Advocacy Brunches…we do them about three times a year with our next one coming this December. Attending is always free and all you have to do for the next event is a bring a toy for admission…”

We will definitely be at all of Impulse Atlanta’s events moving forward and encourage all of you to come out as well. October, as the world knows, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or Pinktober, and MCM Worldwide at Lenox participated in spreading awareness with a section dedicated to all things and shades of pink, rose gold, and nudes to match as well as donating twenty percent of the nights proceeds to providing a Holiday party for the foster care girls services by Glam It Up, Inc.

Speaking of GLAM, Marlo stepped out stylish as usual, a MCM signature print waist length leather jacket, with the biker gloves to match. They were laid over a see through peekaboo top and black leather jeans to match. Marlo came through with her inches, braided up into a low ponytail, almost hitting the floor– LITERALLY!! Everyone stepped out and stepped up, large MCM bags made their way out the door, ensuring the girls will have an enjoyable Christmas. It was a night to remember and HeyMikeyATL was definitely in the mix!

Hot Ticket! Yovanna Momplasir (@Yovanna_love) Celebrates Launch of ‘Momplaisir’

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Salon Moraee in Lindbergh, Atlanta’s flyest waited in anticipation for the debut collection from Yovanna Momplaisir.

Before the show, party-goers relaxed to the sounds of DJ Che Mack while sipping on any of the many different flavors of “Moskato,” a line of flavored moscatos, from the Moskato bar. Through the window everyone could feast their eyes on the models posing outside in their swimsuits. I was so busy soaking in the atmosphere  of gorgeous glittering Atlanta socialites that I hardly realized the show was starting.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Salon Moraee in Lindbergh, a number of Atlanta’s flyest and finest citizens waited in anticipation for the debut collection from Yovanna Momplaisir.

Indeed what a show it was!  The red carpet was hosted by our very own Michael “Hey Mikey” Fanning. The first round of looks were the swimsuits we saw on the models earlier. Every model was pleasantly chic in their barely there swimsuits, which were accessorized with Momplaisir sunglasses. It was to everyone’s delight that the looks also featured hair pins that read “That Bitch”. This phrase, as we all know was made famous by Momplaisir on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The ready to wear portion of the show was the icing on the cake.

The collection was tailor made for a woman on the go who works hard, but plays even harder. Everything from beautiful jumpsuits and formal gowns to the more casual logo tees and jeans, all possessed a sophistication held only by experts in the world of fashion. The pink looks sprinkled throughout were easy and flawless, with a few of the looks being accentuated by her Momplaisir fedoras. (You can see footage from the fashion on our CEO’s, Michael “Hey Mikey” Fanning’s IG @HeyMikeyATL)

The climax of the show, of course, came at the end when Ms. Yovanna Momplaisir herself made her entrance during the finale. Her silver sequined blazer dress guaranteed she held all of the attention, and rightfully so. What better way to capitalize on such a classic moment in television history? I can see this collection being rocked by any and everyone. K. Daniel Talent produced an amazing event! Once everything was said and done, and I said my goodbyes, I left the party feeling like I had truly been a part of something special. Kudos to Yovanna and her team!
