Our nation is in turmoil. We live in a time where distrust in law enforcement is at an all time high thanks to police brutality, racism, and general apathy. The notion of “bad cops” and closing ranks when it comes to law enforcement has become so prevalent that it seems to be the norm. However, there are good police officers out there, they just have to be willing to take a stand. “Black & Blue,” starring Naomie Harris, tells the story of Alicia West, a rookie cop in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, a crime ridden area that never quite recovered from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Alicia, having left to serve two tours in the army, returns wanting to keep her hometown safe. However, nothing is as she quite remembers including the friends she once knew and the officers she serves with. Viewed as an outsider she witnesses a crooked cop executing local gang members to cover up they were working for him. Alicia records it on body cam and a manhunt pursues as she must get the footage back to the precinct before a group of corrupt cops and gangster can take her down.

This film was EVERYTHING! At first glance you would not think Naomie can be an action star, but she pulled it off in this thriller. The film and story are so powerful and relatable. As minorities in the country, many of us have either lost faith or questioned if the police are here to keep us safe or are power hungry and oppressive. Pairing her with Tyrese was also genius. In this film we find him portraying, “Milo ‘Mouse’ Jackson,”  a former ex-con with PTSD from horrible run-ins with the police. The two are quite the dynamic duo as they fight for justice, understanding, empathy, and truly for their lives.

It all went down at Studio Movie Grill in Marietta, Ga where guests were treated to popcorn and drinks! Xilla is cool, funny, and definitely down to earth we look forward to meeting him again soon. You all just be sure to catch, “Black And Blue” in theaters everywhere, Friday October 25th! Happy viewing!

Meek Mill, Jahi Winston, Teyonah Parris & More Star in “CHARM CITY KINGS” Trailer!

Growing up in West Baltimore, teenage Mouse (JAHI DI’ALLO WINSTON, Queen & Slim, Proud Mary, The Upside) feels the fierce pull of different forces: Between notorious ex-con Blax (Grammy-nominated best-selling artist MEEK MILL) and concerned Detective Rivers (WILLIAM CATLETT, TV’s “Black Lightning”), and between the straight path set for Mouse by his concerned mother (TEYONAH PARRIS, If Beale Street Could Talk, Dear White People, TV’s “Empire”) and the dangers of gang life, which took his brother’s life.

The one truth Mouse knows is that he loves the power, artistry and energy of “The Ride” — the exhilarating motorized-dirt-bike scene that is both pastime and passion on the streets of Baltimore.

During one eventful summer, Mouse steers his way through two father figures, a first girlfriend, the pull of illegal choices and the thrill of stunt-riding that makes him and his friends feel like “CHARM CITY KINGS.”

Meek in “Charm City Kings”

We are really excited to see “Charm City Kings!” We personally know Jahi and he is one amazing young actor. Did you catch him in “Queen & Slim?” The film is reminiscent of “Biker Boyz” (2003), with the motorcycle motif. We have no doubt this film is going to amazing. Besides we want to see if Meek Mill has any real acting chops!

CHARM CITY KINGS will debut at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, followed by a release in NY/LA/Baltimore on April 10thand nationwide April 17th 2020.

We are a little less than four months away from the debut of Marvel’s standalone “Black Widow” movie. The film is definitely one of the most anticipated features of 2020. Thankfully, Marvel Studios has now dropped the second official trailer for the film!

As you may already know the film is a prequel, to the Avengers Infinity War and Endgame movies, set shortly after the events of “Captain America: Civil War.Black Widow returns to Russia and reunites with her “family,” Yelena Belenova (another Black Widow), Iron Maiden, and the Red Guardian. With their help she dares to take on The Red Room, the secret organization that creates female spies like herself and the mysterious assassin, Taskmaster!

The first “Black Widow” trailer focused on Natasha’s [Romanoff] “family” as aforementioned, but this second one gives us a clear look at Taskmaster and hints at his skills. As you can see he an expert swordsman, fighter, gymnast, and has shield throwing skills similar to Captain America’s. In the comics, Taskmaster has “photographic reflexes, the ability to copy and mimic the fighting style of any person he sees granting him limited super speed, Olympic level conditioning, and allows him to predict movements from his opponents. Thus, at this point in the MCU, he possibly has mimicked the fighting styles of multiple Avengers, including Cap, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, and perhaps even Hawkeye. and Black Panther. Needless to Widow has her work cut out for her.

This new trailer only leaves us feening for the actual film. We really hate Black Widow has not gotten her own film earlier. She is seemingly dead as of “Avengers: Endgame,” and Scarlet Johansson’s contract with Marvel Studios is up. The trailer continues to play on the bond between Natasha and Yelena, forcing us to believe she will completely believe will assume the mantle of Black Widow.

What do you all think of the second official trailer for “Black Widow” and Taskmaster? Sound off in the comments’ section below!

Starring Jared Leto, the first official trailer for “Morbius” has dropped from Sony  Pictures and it is EVERYTHING!

From the trailer we see Michael Morbius was born with a rare blood disease that causes him great pain and will ultimately kill him. Using bat DNA he creates a serum that cures him of his disease, but the side effect endows him with bat-like superhuman abilities like flight, enhanced speed, superhuman strength, echolocation, and the hunger and ability to feed on human blood. Thus he is vampiric through biological and not supernatural means; meaning sunlight and garlic have no affect on him (although he does prefer the dark). However, Morbius is not your typical “hero,” as he can be just as brutal as any serial killer in his pursuit of justice or a meal.

The film is undoubtedly an origin story for the character, and thus far besides law enforcement we do not see who the true villain is. We love the trailer though, we expect any film about Morbius to be nothing less than dark and deadly.  Jared Leto is an amazing actor and we feel this is a smart move to cast him as the lead of the film. He gives moody, Gothic vibes. Interestingly, this is not his first role as comic book character. As you recall, he portrayed The Joker in “Suicide Squad.” Although his portayal was mostly panned, it is still worth noting.

Interestingly, however, Michael Keaton is reprising his role as “Adrian Toomes/Vulture,” last seen in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” This has fans believing that the next Spider-Man franchise will soon showcase The Sinister Six; a group of six super villains from Spidey’s rogues’ gallery determined to kill him. Thus far we have seen Vulture, Venom, and Mysterio. If we assume Mysterio’s death in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” was actually an illusion, then Morbius would make the fourth addition to the team. That leaves two slots available. Carnage is set to appear in the “Venom” sequel, and there is sure to be a villain in the next standalone Spider-Man film. Thus, this actually sounds plausible.
