Multiplatinum Memphis rapper and CMG mogul Yo Gotti unleashes his brand new album, I Still Am [CMG/Epic Records], in stores and at all digital retailers today.

Get it at this link. Upon going live at midnight, the record catapulted to the Top 11 of the iTunes Overall Top Albums Chart and Top 3 of the Top Hip-Hop/Rap Albums Chart where it continues to hold strong.

This past week has been momentous for Gotti. Just last night, he hosted an exclusive Tidal screening for his documentary I Still Am and listening party in New York City. Tastemakers, fellow artists, and celebrities gathered for the event to watch this revealing powerhouse film unfold and hear the record for the very first time. Check out the documentary HERE In addition, he guested on The Breakfast Club for a detailed interview about everything in his world and so much more.

I Still Am sees Gotti reach a new level. Firmly carving out his place amongst rap’s elite, he delivers his most potent, profound, and powerful body of work to date. Among its stacked tracklisting, the platinum-certified smash “Rake It Up” [feat. Nicki Minaj] introduced this collection followed by “Juice”—which saw him re-team with his “Down In The DM” collaborator producer Ben Billions for another banger. He practically burns through the speaker on the one-two opening punch of “Betrayal” and “Back Gate. “Save It For Me” [feat. Chris Brown Meek Mill] remains an event in and of itself, and “One on One” [feat. Meek Mill & YFN Lucci] unites a trio of the game’s hottest rappers. “Don’t Wanna Go Back” might be his most introspective cut yet, while “Around the World” closes out the record with a bang. The full tracklisting can be found below.

Simultaneously, Gotti has risen through the ranks as a bona fide cultural force in his own right. He just inked an exclusive deal with Puma where he will work with the brand on several programs and exciting product collaborations, many of which will be inspired by styles that have been not only iconic to Puma, but to Yo Gotti himself.

In addition, he has joined forces with Monster products to bring better sound and an elevated listening experience to music fans everywhere. As part of Monster’s alliance with the multi-platinum superstar, Yo Gotti will be creating “The Sound of Yo Gotti,” including a special VIP website that will highlight specially designated Monster products chosen by Yo Gotti to bring fans new ways to experience the very best audio quality possible.

Expect him everywhere in 2018 as he rightfully accepts the crown.

After quietly and passionately grinding for over 15 years, Yo Gotti’s hustle paid off big time in 2016. His fifth full-length album, The Art of Hustle [CMG/Epic Records], captured #4 on the Billboard Top 200, marking his highest chart bow yet. It spawned the platinum-selling smash “Down In The DM,” which not only dominated radio, but it even entered the modern lexicon as a popular phrase! In between TV performances and appearances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!The Real, and BET, he played to sold out crowds every night on The Endless Summer Tour with G-EazyLogic, and YG all summer long. He capped the year off with the explosive White Friday. 2017 saw him light up the road with Meek Mill and turn up with another smash “Rake It Up” [feat. Nicki Minaj].

So the other day I was invited to this event and I was told that it was DJ Khalid‘s nonprofit. As I’m putting the address in my GPS I realize I’m heading to College Park from the north side of Atlanta. I know what some of you are thinking … yes there was traffic but the house was in a good area. Down the street from million dollar homes and my favorite restaurant right now, The Real Milk & Honey.

Pulling up I got connected with the PR folk on site and they got me introduced to Courtney Stewart. Prior to meeting him I was sipping on some rosay and enjoying these delicious jerk tacos made by Chef Joe. Oh and let me “Slow Down” … it was nice to see Bobby Valentino there as well. Stewart is truly a god-send a very humble entrepreneur. The artist manager, record label executive, and humanitarian maximizes every opportunity for success from all angles and was also recognized on Billboard’s prestigious “40 under 40”.

Right now Stewart is moving one family in their newly renovated home and once they are stable continue to work with other families. Where him and his team will provide weekly educational sessions, life-skill activities and income-savings programs. The Right Hand Foundation partners offer workshops as well as mentors and personal coaches to provide hands on education for families. And as I told Courtney I definitely appreciate what he’s doing for our community. So many people say they want to give back but to do that and also take it a step further by insuring that theses families get hands-on attention is truly unbelievable.

#ThrowbackThursday! The Treasure That Was Teairra Mari’s “Rehab!”

Published

on

Teairra Mari Hey Mikey ATL

Teairra Mari is so beautiful to me and has superstar potential but why haven’t we heard from her lately? I know about the sex scandal, her beef with 50 cent, her crazy ex … but what about her music. Wait no longer her latest project “Rehab” is here!

Teairra Mari Hey Mikey ATL

I swear I hate how fans and lovers of music just throw away talent and artist who have major capabilities.  Look at the picture above … Teairra Mari is a star! Lets not sit up here and act like she wasn’t the next thing popping some years ago. Some of ya’ll forgot how great she was from “No Daddy” to “Make Her Feel Good“.

“No Daddy” – Teairra Mari

As seen below mama was “Beyonce” in their tribute to Destiny’s Child. Their = Amerie + Rihanna … yes RIHANNA! I was so excited to see Teairra on the Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood cast. I just knew that this would further her career like it did my girl K. Michelle but in the first season I had to witness the BS between her and Ray J. Then throughout the next couple of seasons it seemed like the cast was after her and wanted to see her fail. Rumor has it she won’t be on the next season of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood anyways.

“Loose My Breath” – Teairra Mari, Rihanna, and Amerie

Maybe I’m in the select few but Teairra Mari is a house whole name. All these people claim to not know her music but they definitely remember her name. Hell she was in Lottery Ticket and did a really good job. Laugh at her sexcapades or her alcoholism all you want. None of us are perfect. Teairra should definitely make some better choices but her talent is UNDENIABLE.

“Baecation” – Teairra Mari

Not too long she was deemed as the next Beyonce … maybe she is maybe she’s not. But I’m not giving up on her. Her latest project “Rehab” dropped in June and its deep. I can tell she’s very vulnerable but she’s also enjoying herself. She’s found a way to use the negative attention she’s received and turn it into some really great music. My favorite song is “Baecation” its sooooooooooo sexy. She is definitely giving me Brandy … hopefully that doesn’t upset her. Oh and “I Aint Got it” has me rolling on the floor every time I think about her interview with the Breakfast Club. Long story short, Teairra … there are people who love you and want to see you win. Stay locked in queen.

“I Said What I Said!” Top 5 Female MC’s Of All Time!

Trying to make a Top 5 all time list is nearly impossible, so don’t email me about your dissatisfaction. Know that I have reason for my selections and you can agree or disagree. For an artist to be on my list they need numbers, staying power, and that one thing that separates them from the rest.

Top 5 Female MC Hey Mikey ATL

Trying to make a Top 5 all time list is nearly impossible, so don’t email me about your dissatisfaction. Know that I have reason for my selections and you can agree or disagree. For an artist to be on my list they need numbers, staying power, and that one thing that separates them from the rest.

5. Trina

Trina Hey Mikey ATL

At number 5 we have the “Diamond Princess” aka Trina. I definitely have a soft spot for her being that I was born in Florida. If you know anyone from the sunshine state or have visited, YOU KNOW Trin-Bean is gospel. Might even make you twerk that thang at the alter if you know what I mean. She makes this list for multiple reasons! None more than her being introduced to us in 1998 and now its 2019! 20 years in the game is unheard of for a female mc. Not to mention can you do any better than Pull Over? I rest my case.

“Look Back At Me” feat. Killer Mike

4. Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea Hey Mikey ATL

Coming in strong at number 4 is Iggy Azalea. I’ve already gotten so much push back for this selection but quite frankly IDGAF. Iggy is white and soooooo right. Lets be honest many can’t get with Iggy because she’s not black but momma is talented. (period) Her song Fancy charted at #1 on Billboard, not to mention she has 3 others that charted in the Top 10. Plus her music videos already have billions of views and are the best of any female of this new generation. From her natural beauty to new found dance moves, she’s iconic already.

“F*ck It Up” feat Kash Doll

3. Lil’ Kim

Lil Kim Hey Mikey ATL

At number 3 I have the blueprint, Lil Kim. The original Queen Bee is always number one in my heart but I’m still adjusting to her new sound post prison. As a young kid there was none better than Kim. She taught me what shade was and also solidified herself as a fashion icon. She is what I call the “Don Dada”. I still haven’t heard a female mc that can take me on a lyrical journey and also be raunchy at the same time. Just listen to Not Tonight Magic Stick, you’er welcome.

“Get Money” feat. The Notorious B.I.G

“Pray For Me” ft. Rick Ross & Musiq Soulchild

2. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj Hey Mikey ATL

Nicki Minaj is my runner up at number 2. Minaj has to be Top 2 on any list for her resume alone. She is the most successful female mc of all time statistically. When everyone knows your lyrics to Itty Bitty Piggy and it’s before you drop an album, you are set. She is one of the most controversial woman in the game but she’s also one of the most talented mc’s to ever live. Pop, Rap, RnB … it doesn’t matter the genre. She slays everything!

“Massive Attack” feat. Sean Garrett

1.Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot

Missy Elliot Hey Mikey ATL

Finally at numero uno, I have Missy Elliot. She is without question number one in my eyes. With 20+ years in the game and having touched so many careers … Ciara, Monica,Tweet, Aaliyah, Fantasia Jasmine Sullivan …she’s a lock at the pole position. Not to mention her iconic hits like The Rain to Work It, she’s in a class by herself. I mean did you not see her perform at the VMA’s? It was the best performance I’ve seen from a female mc in the last 5 years, at least. Hell I don’t know any men that have done more for music than Missy. From her one-of-a-kind dance routines to her outlandish music videos she is, THAT GIRL.

I rest my case.
