Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg–six of the most iconic superheroes on the planet have joined forces in what is now the greatest superhero film to date–Justice League!

The film centers on a world grown bitter after the death of Superman. Fear, violence, anger, and hopelessness pervade the world as Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) are forced to recruit Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Rey Fisher) to help stop a new alien invasion.

Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds), a powerful member of an alien race known as the New Gods, is bent on the conquering and destruction of Earth after being dealt a devastating defeat thousands of years ago from an alliance of humans, Amazons, Atlanteans, and gods. Superman’s (Henry Cavill) death and the current state of humanity, attract Steppenwolf and his hordes of Parademons (shock troops that resemble humanoid flies) and he searches the planet for three Mother Boxes, powerful alien artifacts that can terraform Earth and destroy all life as we know it.

justice league movie review

Batman, a perpetual loner, and Wonder Woman, who has spent the better half of a century hiding from mankind lead a temperamental Aquaman determined to honor his royal duties, an unsure and insecure Flash trying to right the wrongs of his past, and a Cyborg who is still learning the extents of his powers and abilities on a day to day basis. Like any team in the beginning they struggle to work together, but when a powerful element of hope is introduced to the team, our heroes prove they are legends!

We have to say Warner Bros. and DC Comics are NOT playing when it comes to their superhero films. There was action from the beginning of the film to the end and at no point were you left bored or wondering. We are still reeling from the fact there is an actual Justice League film out and are even more excited about future films to be added to the DC Cinematic Universe. This film’s message is one of hope. In Wonder Woman’s solo film she stated “Man made a world where standing together is impossible…” Well, Diana was wrong. The alliance of these heroes proves no real good is ever truly accomplished when you stand alone. You all just be sure to check out the Justice League movie debuting nationwide at select theaters this Thursday night, and nationwide Friday, November 17th! We are #AllIn!

In a recent report from Licensing.org, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said the toy company has big plans for the popular 1990s-era franchise, including a new film.

The Power Rangers brand has a “significant opportunity for growth,” Goldner said in the report. Not a lot of detail was given about the film, which will follow the 2017 Power Rangers movie that received mixed reviews from critics. CNET’s review of that movie notes that while the teen heroes don’t hang out at a juice bar/karate dojo, they “unmistakably” carry the spirit of the cult-favorite show.

Power Rangers fans with an interest in the Mighty Morphin toys and collectibles can mark their calendars for 2020. Goldner said in the licensing report that 2019 is a “transition year” for the Power Rangers brand, with new licensed products and entertainment content coming in 2020.

Lord Zedd and Green Ranger (Tommy Oliver)

This is huge news and we are glad to see the Power Rangers will be back in action. As you may recall, the post-credit scene reveals Tommy Oliver, the sixth and Green Ranger, will be introduced in the next film. There is no word on whether he or Lord Zedd will be the antagonist of the sequel. The Green Ranger was originally and adversary of the other Rangers in the series, and Rita did warn our heroes that others will come seeking the Zeo Crystals. The others are undoubtedly Zedd and other Ranger enemies like The Machine Empire, Master Vile, Divatox, or even Astronema, if the movies progress that far.

We are disappointed we will have to wait until 2020, however, for the sequel. Will the cast still be able to pass for teenagers then? Or is this a time to introduce the next set of Rangers? We will keep you posted on more news at it comes.

[REVIEW] Crazy–Rich–Fun! “Crazy Rich Asians” (@CrazyRichMovie) is Summer 2018’s Close Out Hit!

It is hard to believe it has been twenty-five years since we have seen a movie with an all-Asian cast. There are so many talented Asian actors that it seems rather absurd. Then, usually when we think of Asian dominated films we think of period pieces like The Joy Luck Club or Memoirs of a Geisha. However, one new movie, based off the best-selling novel, Crazy Rich Asians, is making waves with critics everywhere and we are here for it!

Crazy Rich Asians centers on Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) a gifted economics professor at New York University who unbeknownst to her lands millionaire playboy, Nick Young (Henry Golding), as her boyfriend. Rachel soon learns of what it means to be in Henry’s world when she travels to Singapore with him to attend his best friend’s wedding and meet his family. She soon learns the intricacies, relationships, forged by Nick’s family are not only steeped in tradition, but at times hostile; especially when it comes to his mother Eleanor Young (Michelle Yeoh) of her.

This film truly had something for everyone. We love the romance, drama, comedy, and sense of family we got from it. The cast was stellar and we were introduced to some pretty amazing actors. Constance and Henry have natural, believable chemistry as Rachel and Nick. We are not sure if they are dating in real life, but we would love it if they were.

Jemma Chan as "Astrid Leong" in "Crazy Rich Asians" movie

Our two other favorite characters are none other than “Astrid Leong” and “Goh Peik Lin” played by Jemma Chan and Awkwafina, respectively. Jemma is BEAUTIFUL! As Astrid she is classic, regal, and well put together–the epitome of poise. Her character’s development is nothing short of moving. Meanwhile Awkwafina’s character can definitely be described as an “Asian Tiffany Haddish, (Girls Trip style)!”

This movie is definitely one to support. As minorities representation and inclusion are very important. We definitely recognized this with Marvel’s Black Panther earlier this year and now it is time to show our Asian brothers and sisters the same love. We did it and they will too!

We are definitely going to see Crazy Rich Asians again and this time we are bringing ALL our friends. Singapore trip, anyone? Catch this movie in theaters everywhere, Wednesday, August 15th!
