Comic books turned action movies are all the rage nowadays.

Marvel and DC comic books have been gracing the silver screen for years.  Warner Brothers has gotten in on the action with their upcoming movie “Justice League”.

Recently, Warner Brothers released a new movie poster for the highly anticipated film. The new poster shows Batman and the members of the newly formed Justice League along with the caption “Unite The League”.

The “Justice League” comes right off the heels of the “Batman vs Superman” movie. In the “Justice League”, Batman finds himself inspired by Superman’s selfless act to sacrifice himself in order to save the world. While trying to deal with the tragic loss of Superman, Batman begins to have a little faith in humanity again.

The Formation Of The Justice League

Bruce Wayne (Batman) teams up with Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) to form the Justice League. Batman and Wonder Woman have to work quickly to  find and recruit as many metahumans as they can to join the league. The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman and Batman make up the much needed Justice League. Unfortunately, the league may not be enough to save the planet from a catastrophic assault.

The film was directed by Zack Snyder and the screenplay written by Chris Terrio. “Justice League” also has a star studded cast which includes Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Barry Allen, Jesse Eisenberg, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, and Diane Lane. The official release date for the “Justice League” is set for November 17th of this year. In the meantime, you can check out the official trailer of the movie below.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

The Silence of the Lambs remains one of the all-time best films about a serial killer. Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) sends chills down your spine with his vindictive and twisted mind games that play out in this classic film. A young F.B.I. cadet (Jodie Foster) must confide in an incarcerated and manipulative killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims. There is more than enough twisted and disturbing content in this film to drive anyone mad.

Candyman (1992)

Candyman, a murderous soul with a hook for a hand, is accidentally summoned to reality by a skeptic grad student researching the monster’s myth. The legend has it that if you look into a mirror and chant the name Candyman five times, he will appear behind you and kill you with his hook. Enjoy this throwback horror film; just make sure not to look in the mirror.

Se7en (1995)

Se7en follows two detectives, a rookie (Brad Pitt) and a veteran (Morgan Freeman), who hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motives. With so many twists and turns, this film is sure to shock and leave an unsettling lasting impression. This serial killer paints some of the most iconic murder scenes of his unlucky victims which lends itself on our list of one of the most sadistic films.

American Psycho (2000)

A wealthy New York investment banking executive, Thomas Clyde Blackburn (Christian Bale), hides his alternative psychopathic ego from his coworkers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies. This movie is particularly horrifying because he appears to be a credible and successful businessman, but as the story unfolds we see his sadistic ways bleed over, quite literally.

SAW (2004)

Saw is hands down a horror classic! It sets itself apart from the rest with heart-pumping and jaw-clenching scenes that are hard to forget. Saw is about two strangers who wake up in a room with no recollection of how they got there or why, and son discover they are pawns in a deadly game perpetrated by a notorious serial killer. There is no better way to prepare for JIGSAW than by watching the origin story of it all.

Superheroes–we mean actors that play superheroes–are uniting! Will Smith and Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Tom Holland are teaming up for a new movie, an animated spy movie!

Spies in Disguise is the current project that both Will Smith and Tom Holland have been signed onto. Will Smith, of course, is best known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Men in Black, and Suicide Squad. While a newer member of Hollywood’s elite, Tom Holland isn’t someone to be ignored. You might recognize him best from Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Lost City of Z. Now, the two are coming together to work on a brand new animated feature film.

Based on the short film, Pigeon: Impossible, the new animated feature length film will have similar ties to its source material. For those not in the know, Pigeon: Impossible is about a pigeon who somehow gets stuck in a nuclear briefcase, and things just get worse from there. The new feature film should bring a lot more to the table when it comes to both details and storytelling.

An exclusive from Variety has revealed that both Will Smith and Tom Holland will lend their voices over to the film. It will be produced by 20th Century Fox’s Animation department, with the movie currently scheduled to hit theaters in January 2019. The Peanuts Movie helmsman Nick Bruno will call the shots. Spies in Disguise is part of Fox’s ongoing initiative to increase their animation output under new CEO Stacey Snider.

Screen Rant attended a Fox slate event in London where more details were offered. In the Spies in Disguise, Smith will play Lance Sterling, a cocky super spy who is turned into a pigeon by Holland’s inventor Walter Beckett (who has a whole host of cool gadgets). The pair team up with a gang of real pigeons and group of techies to try and stop a Bondian villain in an adventure described as “21 Jump Street meets Skyfall” by the filmmakers.

We were also shown footage from the movie, illustrating the two lead characters. A clip starring Smith depicted his character on a sting operation where he sets up gadget cameras to record his various antics. While fighting villains (that all know his name), Smith’s sleuth uses lobsters and alcohol as weapons. The one focusing on Holland using parkour to escape the clutches of Yakuza enemies, while using a gadget to calculate his jumps. He fails and is flung from a building, becoming trapped outside an elevator by grappling hook. Holland’s character then falls through a restaurant and lands in a palm tree. Smith remarks that Holland can take a beating, to which the youngster quips he learned how to in middle school.

While Spies in Disguise might end up being great (and the filmmakers said to Screen Rant they hope it to be a jumping off point for a franchise), Fox is often behind the likes of Disney/Pixar and other top tier competitors. The quality of Spies in Disguise might derail as the idea of doing more animated films might outweigh the opportunity to create something truly great with these two standout actors. All that being said, the movie still has a long way to go until they’ll be able to experience it. It’s probably best to hold back on negative opinions before the movie actually starts coming together. As of right now, Spies in Disguise is still in the very early development stages, so even more news should be coming soon.

This is going to be good!

The animated feature will also star Greg Cipes (TV’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as Beast Boy, Scott Menville (TV’s “Spider-Man”) as Robin, Khary Payton (“The Walking Dead”) as Cyborg, Tara Strong (the “My Little Pony” franchise) as Raven, and Hynden Walch (TV’s “Adventure Time with Finn & Jake”) as Starfire.  In the film, they reprise their roles from the Cartoon Network series, which follows the crime-fighting adventures and antics of the young Super Hero roommates.

The film will be directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, based on characters from DC.  Michail, Will Arnett and Peggy Regan are producing, with Sam Register, Jelenic and Horvath serving as executive producers.  Apart from Arnett, all are “Teen Titans GO!” series contributors.

No stranger to voice acting or superheroes, Arnett played the title role in this year’s hit animated Super Hero feature “The LEGO Batman Movie,” after creating the character in the wildly popular “The LEGO Movie.”  He also voices the lead in the fan favorite Netflix series “BoJack Horseman.”

Bell starred as the voice of Anna in one of the most successful animated films of all time, “Frozen,” and has since lent her voice to the hit “Zootopia.”  She can also be heard alongside Arnett in an episode of “BoJack Horseman.”

Set to release on July 27, 2018, “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
