Marvel Comics and DC Comics are the biggest and most iconic companies in the comic industry.

As the homes to superheroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, these two comic giants pretty much rule the world and hearts of fanboys and fangirls everywhere! However, it is definitely time the respective heroes from both companies meet on The Big Screen, and apparently the cast for the upcoming Justice League film are “All In” for it!

The cast of Justice League is game to collide worlds with their Marvel counterparts. Amidst the heated debate online (and in real life) among fans regarding which comic book films are better, the DC Films actors are not opposed to the idea of coming together with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a project realizing what a great opportunity it would be to see everyone’s favorite superheroes interact on the big screen.

marvel vs dc

As comic book movies dominate Hollywood, fans are continuously treated to superhero films from several film studios, but arguably on top of the hierarchy are Marvel and DC offerings. The two companies have had a long-standing rivalry from their days of producing prints and that competition appears to have spilled on the big screen – at least according to fans. The actors and even the company execs (particularly Marvel’s Kevin Feige and DC’s Geoff Johns), however, apparently don’t have any beef with each other, as once again proved by the cast of Justice League open to an MCU crossover.

In a new interview with NewsAsia (check it out above), the ensemble was asked about their thoughts about the aforementioned rivalry and possibly getting together with the Avengers and some of their cohorts. While Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher are a little bit careful with their words, the rest is pumped up with the idea specifically, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa, who immediately let his imagination run wild saying:

“I would love to be [in a crossover,]” Momoa said. “Hell yeah! I mean like, Hemsworth, I love him. It’s like, to be next to Thor, or to be next to the Hulk. It’s like ‘oh, I’m going to take you out on the water and drown your ass.’”

Cavill, however, poses an interesting point: “It’s been done in comic books and I think once stories start to run out or people feel like they’ve seen it all before, yeah, I think there’s something there in the future,” he said, which makes a lot of sense. At one point, the genre would feel a bit repetitive that film studios would feel the need to shake things up to keep fans invested and what better way to do it than bring all these heroes together for the first time on the big screen? Surely, it would give us the same thrill that we’ve had when we first saw the Avengers or in a few weeks, the Justice League come to life in a theater — just bigger and more impactful. Probably easier said than done, with all the business dealings that everyone involved has to sort out, but it’s not really a bad thing to will it to fruition.

marvel vs dc comic book

Marvel and DC have yet to collide on The Big Screen, but in the comics the two company’s respective heroes went toe to toe in April and May of 1996! Fans were able to vote on the outcomes of battles between heroes like Superman and Hulk, Batman and Captain America, Thor and Shazam, Storm and Wonder Woman, and even Catwoman and Elektra. Marvel narrowly won from the crossover. Still, before Marvel and DC talk about any crossover, we need the former to sit at the table with Fox and reclaim the X-Men and Fantastic Four! Seeing Black Panther and Storm on the Big Screen together is a must!

The one truth Mouse knows is that he loves the power, artistry and energy of “The Ride” — the exhilarating motorized-dirt-bike scene that is both pastime and passion on the streets of Baltimore. During one eventful summer, Mouse steers his way through two father figures, a first girlfriend, the pull of illegal choices and the thrill of stunt-riding that makes him and his friends feel like CHARM CITY KINGS.

Meek in “Charm City Kings”

We are really excited to see “Charm City Kings!” We personally know Jahi and he is one amazing young actor. Did you catch him in “Queen & Slim?” The film is reminiscent of “Biker Boyz” (2003), with the motorcycle motif. We have no doubt this film is going to amazing. Besides we want to see if Meek Mill has any real acting chops!

CHARM CITY KINGS will debut at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, followed by a release in NY/LA/Baltimore on April 10thand nationwide April 17th 2020.

Just when you thought Captain Marvel was virtually unstoppable in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a rumor spawns that may through her a curve ball! Apparently, in an effort to introduce the mutant superhero team, X-Men, to the MCU, Rogue will appear in the next Captain Marvel movie.

Rogue vs. Captain Marvel

Rogue’s appearance in the next Captain Marvel film should not come as a surprise. Fans familiar with Marvel Comics know that Rogue began as a super villain, allied with her foster mothers, Mystique and Destiny, mutant terrorists and leaders of the team, The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Rogue’s original, and sole power set, was her signature ability to absorb superhuman powers, skills, and memories from others through physical contact. Her extra powers of flight and superhuman strength were abilities she “stole” by permanently absorbing Captain Marvel’s (then Ms. Marvel) powers permanently by holding on to her for too long. Captain Marvel was left comatose after her battle with Rogue for years and after struggled to become the hero she once was again.

We really hope Rogue does appear in the next Captain Marvel film! It is the perfect way to introduce her to the MCU! Also, she joins her fellow “X-Woman,” Psylocke by being an X-Men character rumored to be appearing in an upcoming Marvel Film. As we reported earlier, Psylocke may appear as “Lady Mandarin” in the upcoming “Shang-Chi” film.

What do you guys think? Are you hoping Captain Marvel and Rogue will come to blows in the next “Captain Marvel” film? Sound off in the comments’ section below!

The love is real when it comes to “Hair Love!” The animated short film just won a coveted Oscar for “Best Animated Short” at the 92nd annual Academy Awards!

hair love movie

The film centers on a little Black girl who’s father attempts to do her hair–with some challenges. The film ultimately normalizes and showcases Black hair as beautiful in all its forms and has been met with rave reviews and positivity since its debut last year.

The creator of the film, Matthew A. Cherry, and Karen Rupert Tolliver, the film’s producer, both feel “Hair Love” not onlu makes a powerful statement about Black hair, but also because they wanted to see more representation in animation.

Matthew and Karen also brought along DeAndre Arnold, a Black teen from Texas, suspended and barred from walking in his high school graduation because his locks “violate school policy.” We are completely here for “Hair Love” and all its messages! If you have not seen the animated short you can check it out below! Congratulations to everyone who made this project a success, you more than deserve it!
