Disney just cannot be stopped! If they continue making live action movies based on their classic animated hits, then they definitely won’t be anytime soon. Thus far the company has made successful live action versions of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (Maleficent), The Jungle Book, Pete’s Dragon, and Beauty and The Beast!

Live action versions of Aladdin, The Lion King, Winnie The Pooh (Christopher Robin), Marry Poppins, and Mulan are set to be released in the next couple of years. Now we can add one more additional film to the live action ranks–Disney’s Lady & The Tramp!

Charlie Bean, who directed “The Lego Ninjago Movie,” will helm the project, which will be available exclusively on Disney’s digital streaming service scheduled to go live next year.

Andrew Bujalski wrote the script and Brigham Taylor is producing.

The original movie followed two dogs — an upper-middle-class cocker spaniel named Lady and a stray mongrel named Tramp — on a series of romantic adventures through town.

Disney is in the middle of remaking a slew of its biggest hits, including “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and “Mulan,” as well as reboots including “Christopher Robin” and “Mary Poppins Returns.”

We have to say we are definitely here for this reboot! Technology and CGI have come such a long way that just about anything is possible on film. Growing up, Lady & The Tramp was definitely one of our favorite films. Lady was so sididdy and naive, but loyal and sweet. Tramp, however, was your typical hood and scoundrel with a heart of gold. Even though the two of them came from very different worlds you could just tell they connected on a deeper level. That is what love is all about. Now if Disney can go ahead and continue ride this wave of amazing Black movies, we would love an an announcement on The Princess & The Frog. We just can’t let Princess Tiana go out like that!

DOPE! “Black Panther,” Director, Ryan Coogler, To Produce “Space Jam” Sequel!

It is hard to believe it has been over twenty-two years since Space Jam made its debut to audiences worldwide. As many of you recall the movie was nothing short of a mega-hit as it showcased Warner Bros.’ Loonie Tunes’ characters alongside Michael Jordan to take on a group cartoonish aliens bent on enslaving them. Many were surprised that a sequel to the film did not ensue, but there is good news! Not only is there a sequel coming soon, but LeBron James stars in it AND it will be directed by Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler!

Ryan Coogler, as you may already know, is currently the highest grossing Black director, and one of the best filmmakers alive. His films, Fruitvale Station, CreedThe Sculptor, and of course Marvel’s Black Panther, are . He will definitely keep and some extra flavor to the Space Jam sequel. Ryan usually works with Michael B. Jordan in each of his films, and the two have become quite the dynamic duo. We wonder if he will make an appearance in the sequel. Anything he is in is always great!

Even more interesting are the other possible NBA players Ryan could cast in the film. The previous film had appearances from Charles Barkley, Muggsy Bogues, Shawn Bradley, Patrick Ewing, and Larry Johnson. It would definitely be great to see Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Steph Curry, and Iman Shumpert.

Space Jam is an epic, and beloved childhood film and we are so happy to revisit that world. What do you guys think? Are you excited about the sequel? Sound off in the comments section below!

Marvel’s tiniest heroes are still two of its mightiest! We are super psyched as Ant-Man & The Wasp finally goes digital and comes to Blu-Ray this October!

When we last saw Scott Lang, aka the second “Ant-Man,” he was in Captain America: Civil War, where he was recruited by Captain America to fight off Iron Man and a few other heroes to save Winter Soldier and stop Baron Zemo. However, Scott was subsequently arrested for his actions and placed on house arrest for two years, alienating himself from Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), the original Ant-Man and his daughter, Hope Van Dyne. Flash forward to present day and Hope has become a superhero herself, operating with her father and utilizing a modified version of her mother, Janet’s (Michelle Phifer), Wasp suit equipped with wings and “stingers” that can fire blasts of electrical energy. Hank may have discovered a means of rescuing Janet from the Quantum Universe just as the latter telepathically reaches out to Scott. Hope and Hank reluctantly enlist Scott’s help in saving her, but a mysterious villain with quantum powers of her own, Ghost, wants their technology for herself. Scott and Hope will have to team up as Ant-Man and Wasp to not only save Janet, but keep Hank’s shrinking technology out of the government and organized crime’s clutches!

The Avengers may be dealing with Thanos and saving the universe, but its nice to see the smaller adventures are just as action packed.  October 2, 2018 you’ll be able to digitally watch Marvel’s Ant-Man & The Wasp; and then on October 16, 2018 you’ll be able to add the Blu-Ray to your collection.  Happy viewing!

Michael B. Jordan is definitely know stranger to superhero films as he portrayed The Human Torch in the ill-fated 2015 installment of the Fantastic Four, and most recently asthe villainous  Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s Black Panther movie. As also previously reported Warner Bros. is moving forward with a Supergirl film.

The Black Superman, Calvin Ellis

We have to say seeing Michael as Superman would be awesome, but I am not sure how well received he would be by the general populace, let alone fanboys. There is a way they could pull it off. In other universes in the DC Multiverse, there is a Black Superman named Calvin Ellis, who is not only his world’s Man of Steel, but President of The United States as well. It would be awesome to see this character brought to life. Then, there are the denizens of Vlathos Island on Krypton who were Black Kryptonians and created their own Wakanda-like paradise on the doomed planet.

What do you guys think? Would Michael B. Jordan make a great Superman? Sound off in the comments section below!
