Coronavirus has no prejudice when it comes to its victims. Initially many of us considered it a foreign disease that would never reach American shores. Now as the number of Americans who have contracted coronavirus increases we are extremely sad to report one of them is a child.

The number of deaths in the county from the virus is now 11. Tuesday’s update also included a previously reported death in Long Beach. The young person who died was from Lancaster. No further details were immediately available.

“This is a devastating reminder that COVID-19 affects people of all ages,” L.A. County Public Health Department director Barbara Ferrer said.

Two of the individuals who died were between the ages of 50 and 70. One of those individuals had underlying health issues and resided in the West Adams neighborhood.

Officials also confirmed an additional 128 cases of coronavirus infections, bringing the county’s total to 662. Of those positive cases, 42% occurred in individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 and 39% occurred in individuals between the ages of 41 and 65.

At least 119 individuals, or 18% of all positive cases, have been hospitalized for the virus.

The number of COVID-19 cases in California surged to more than 2,20as officials issued urgent warnings about the need for more hospital beds and equipment as medical facilities begin to fill up.

Gov. Gavin Newsom says he believes California will need 50,000 hospital beds for patients suffering from the illness caused by the coronavirus. That marks a significant increase from the 20,000 beds his administration forecast last week. The Democratic governor said the state’s 416 hospitals were doubling their “surge plans,” a move that will result in 30,000 new beds across the system.

This is extremely disturbing and scary. Please everyone let’s all stay home and stay safe. This pandemic is only going to get worse before it gets better. Lord, please, no more children…let’s keep everyone uplifted in our prayers.

According to People, Maeve’s body was found about two and half miles away from her mother’s waterfront party in Shady Side, Maryland. She was found in twenty five feet of water.

Maeve’s husband David McKean spoke with The Washington Post shortly after the accident. He informed them that that Maeve and Gideon “popped into a canoe” in order to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the water. “They just got farther out than they could handle and couldn’t get back in,” He added.

This is all so tragic. The Kennedy Curse seems to be a very real thing. We are praying for their entire family during this horrific time. This marks the second notable death where a parent and child have died together in an accident, the first being Kobe Bryant, and his daughter Gianna.

We will keep you posted as more develops with this story.

“The Kennedy Curse” Strikes Again..The Search for Robert F. Kennedy’s Granddaughter & Her Son is Called Off

The Kennedys are the equivalent to royalty in The United States. Wealth, power, fame, fortune, and unfortunately death are what we associate with this family. However, it seems “The Kennedy Curse,” (via Wikipedia) refers to “a series of deaths, accidents, and other calamities involving members of the American Kennedy family. The alleged curse has primarily struck the children and descendants of businessman Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., but it has also affected family friends, associates, and other relatives. Political assassinations and plane crashes have been the most common manifestations of the curse.”

Now, the latest victims of The Kennedy Curse are Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, 40, and McKean’s 8-year-old son, Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean. Both are now presumed dead, having been killed in a canoeing accident. The search to rescue them has been called off, and is now a recovery mission for their bodies.

The U.S. Coast Guard announced Friday evening the search would be suspended for Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, 40, and McKean’s 8-year-old son, Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean after an extensive 26-hour search that covered more than 3,600 square miles of air, sea and land.

“This was a difficult case, and even more difficult to make the decision to suspend the search,” Cmdr. Matthew Fine said in a statement. Fine is the deputy sector commander and active search suspension authority at Sector Maryland-National Capitol Region command center. “Our crews and partners did everything they could to find them. We’ve kept the family informed at every step during the search, and our thoughts are with them tonight.”

The initial mission to rescue Townsend McKean and her son had turned into one of “recovery,” the family said Friday ahead of the announcement the search would be called off.

No matter where you stand politically the loss of these lives is tragic. They were mother and son and now their families are left to mourn yet another loss in a string of assassinations, plane crashes, and boating accidents that have claimed so many of their relatives’ lives. Let’s keep them in our prayers.

On Monday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey enacted a stay-at-home order through the end of April, requiring all residents to remain home unless going out for an essential activity, The Hill reported.

The governor’s order deems outdoor recreational activities as essential, so long as it is possible to practice social distancing.

“This includes golf courses if restrictions on food and beverage service under Executive Order 2020-09 are followed,” the order reads, according to the news release.

However, the governor has faced criticism for the decision, as the activity continues to bring groups of people together.

Ann O’Conner, an Arizona resident whose home looks over a private golf course, told The Guardian that as it remains open, she continues to see people piling into golf carts and golfers playing together in groups.

“It’s really disconcerting because you just see these people and there’s no social distancing,” O’Connor told the outlet. “It is like a huge, sick experiment.”

“Essential services during #COVID-19 are not golf and beauty salons. They are first responders, grocers, pharmacists, and few others,” she wrote.

As of the morning of April 1, Arizona has reported 1,298 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 24 deaths, according to a New York Times database.

Arizona isn’t the only state to keep golf courses open as the virus continues to spread.

According to the Myrtle Beach Sun News, North Carolina issued a stay-at-home order March 27 with the exclusion of golf, as did South Carolina after passing the state’s order on Tuesday.

In Florida, many golf courses are staying open as well. According to Golfweek, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an order on March 17 to reduce crowd sizes in restaurants, nightclubs, and beaches, however, golf courses were left out of the picture.

TheColumbus Dispatchreported that golf courses in Ohio are allowed to stay open under Gov. Mike DeWine’s stay-at-home order, so long as golfers practice social distancing while on the green.

“If your golf course is operating as an outdoor recreation opportunity and abiding by all of the order’s social distancing requirements, there is likely not a health concern,” Ohio Department of Health spokeswoman Melanie Amato told the outlet Tuesday.

We completely disagree with any of these states being allowed to declare golfing essential. This has to be one of the most classist and egregious acts we have ever heard of. We are praying for all the lives affected by coronavirus, and that lawmakers and those in power will make sound decisions for their citizens and constituents.
