Whether you like it or not adult entertainment is here to stay! People have sex, and some people get off watching it. Tumblr, a site that was initially for artist over the years became a site rife with porn and sexual acts until late last year when the site’s administrators decided to remove all adult content from its pages. Naturally, Tumblr became a thing of the past as people moved towards Twitter and other sites for their porn fix. Verizon has been in talks with a number of companies interesting in purchasing Tumbler, including PornHub; who wants to restore the site to its “former glory!”

On Thursday evening, Pornhub VP Corey Price claimed in a statement to BuzzFeed News that his company is “extremely interested” in buying Tumblr and “very much looking forward to one day restoring it to its former glory with NSFW content.” The company did not say whether it has actually made any legitimate offer to Verizon, however.

Price is referring to a major change implemented late last year, when Tumblr took the controversial step of banning porn on its platform. The company has been using AI to detect and automatically block images and videos that contain certain adult content. Existing posts containing porn were made private and are no longer publicly accessible. The move resulted in harsh criticism toward the company and a steep decline in web traffic, but Tumblr has given no indication that it plans to reverse its decision. Pornhub quickly sought to attract those users that Tumblr drove away.Tumblr itself was acquired by Yahoo for $1.1 billion in 2013 during the Marissa Mayer era as an attempt to revitalize and steer new, younger users to the sinking internet staple. But Yahoo never really knew what to do with Tumblr, and the micro-blogging site — with its millions of personal blogs and some of the weirdest, best things on the internet — did nothing to reverse Yahoo’s business fortunes.

finalized its $4.5 billion acquisition of Yahoo in 2017, which led to it taking ownership of Tumblr. Tumblr is currently part of Verizon Media Group (formerly Oath), the umbrella brand for digital properties that Verizon ultimately controlled after its two buyouts of AOL and Yahoo. The Journal notes that Verizon’s attempt to offload Tumblr comes as it tries to make the best of its collective media business after a $4.6 billion write-down last year, which was essentially an acknowledgement that both deals had been a mistake. Verizon sold one of its Yahoo assets, Flickr, to SmugMug about a year ago. Guru Gowrappan, the executive put in charge of Verizon Media Group last year, later criticized that sell-off as too time-consuming without enough reward.

But publicly, Verizon executives remain committed to the properties despite layoffs that have affected some of the sites and entertainment divisions. “I hope there is no doubt about our commitment to Verizon Media Group and how it fits into our whole strategy,” CEO Hans Vestberg said earlier this week, according to the Journal. Tumblr, it seems, is not necessarily part of that strategy. But now the question becomes whether there’s even a viable buyer for the platform in 2019 that won’t let it slowly wither away.

Honestly, PornHub purchasing Tumblr is not a bad idea. It is a proven fact the porn is one of the biggest uses for the internet, why shouldn’t they capitalize that further?

DC Black Pride 2020 Has Been Canceled

There is no higher priority than the health and well-being of Black LGBTQA community. In light of the continuing global impact and community transmission of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) — and in accordance with public health recommendations the Center for Black Equity has made the unprecedented decision to cancel DC Black Pride 2020. For the first time in 30 years, we will not gather in DC to celebrate our community during Memorial Day Weekend.

This too shall pass. We will celebrate the 30th DC Black Pride in 2021, bigger and more celebratory than ever.

We understand that Black Gay Pride in any city is a big event for many Black LGBT people, but we concur that the safety, health, and well-being of everyone comes first. Besides Pride is more than just festivities, parades, and parties; it’s knowing who you are and celebrating the freedom and hard fought for right to be yourself. With that said, let’s all continue practicing social distancing–no gatherings in the absence of festivities.

Thus far Los Angeles has canceled its Pride festivities and New York is rumored to soon follow. There is no word of other cities cancelling their Black Gay Pride or regular Pride festivities, but if the threat of coronavirus continues to linger then it is a real possibility. We are praying for everyone’s safety and that this will all end soon. Lord knows we want the world better than it was before this all started and at least some sort of normalcy.

The number of deaths in the county from the virus is now 11. Tuesday’s update also included a previously reported death in Long Beach. The young person who died was from Lancaster. No further details were immediately available.

“This is a devastating reminder that COVID-19 affects people of all ages,” L.A. County Public Health Department director Barbara Ferrer said.

Two of the individuals who died were between the ages of 50 and 70. One of those individuals had underlying health issues and resided in the West Adams neighborhood.

Officials also confirmed an additional 128 cases of coronavirus infections, bringing the county’s total to 662. Of those positive cases, 42% occurred in individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 and 39% occurred in individuals between the ages of 41 and 65.

At least 119 individuals, or 18% of all positive cases, have been hospitalized for the virus.

The number of COVID-19 cases in California surged to more than 2,20as officials issued urgent warnings about the need for more hospital beds and equipment as medical facilities begin to fill up.

Gov. Gavin Newsom says he believes California will need 50,000 hospital beds for patients suffering from the illness caused by the coronavirus. That marks a significant increase from the 20,000 beds his administration forecast last week. The Democratic governor said the state’s 416 hospitals were doubling their “surge plans,” a move that will result in 30,000 new beds across the system.

This is extremely disturbing and scary. Please everyone let’s all stay home and stay safe. This pandemic is only going to get worse before it gets better. Lord, please, no more children…let’s keep everyone uplifted in our prayers.

Hints of heightened interest in condoms first emerged last month in China, where the virus was first reported.

Condomsales.com reported March 3 that stores were seeing “shortages in Singapore and Hong Kong.” The e-commerce platform Pinduoduo noted quarantine measures in China fueled a jump in sales of condoms and hair clippers, according to abacusnews.com.

One reason for the condom rush in Asia: Some people were wearing them on their fingers, after rumors spread on social media the practice could protect you from the coronavirus, The Mirror reported.

It’s coincidental, but also important that hard-hit Asia is home to “the world’s largest condom maker,” the Karex company in Malaysia, according to Forbes. Any slowdown in manufacturing there could have global implications.

Condom sales have reportedly been increasing in the United States since coronavirus cases were first diagnosed on the West Coast, where a growing number of shelter-in-place orders are in place.

Such orders bind Americans to their homes, except in cases of “essential business” and health needs.

Seven million people are currently under a three-week shelter order in the San Francisco Bay area, and large urban areas like New York City are reportedly considering it, McClatchy News reported this week.

The betting odds site SportsBettingDime.com went so far as to release odds of a Trojan condom stock boom amid the pandemic. “You can bet on the population getting down to business while stuck inside their homes for the next couple of months,” the site says.

Dr. Mehmet Oz told TMZ couples should have sex while they’re quarantined. “You’ll live longer, get rid of the tension. … Maybe you’ll make some babies.”

Baby Boomers

A jump in birth rates is actually normal after emergencies and natural disasters. Think of the Baby Boomers (via investopedia.com, a term used to describe a person who was born between 1946 and 1964. The baby boomer generation makes up a substantial portion of the world’s population, especially in developed nations. It represents nearly 20% of the American public.) the as of now, largest generation of Americans to date born after World War II, “It’s probably going to be the biggest baby boom we’ve seen,” Dr. Kevin Kathrotia of Millennium Neonatology told FOX Business on Monday. “Anytime there’s the threat of a hurricane, there’s a little baby boom. … There’s going to be kids in nine months, I can assure you.”

Well it looks like the world will be getting a lot more Sagittarians and Capricorns. Christmas really will be “Merry Christmas Baby!”
