“Will & Grace” is one of the funniest and most progressive shows in television history. Yes, Will, Grace, Karen, and Jack have kept us laughing for years, but it was Karen’s wisecracking and beloved, maid, “Rosario Salarez,” that also made some of the most memorable and hilarious scenes in the show’s history.

We are extremely saddened to report that the actress who portrayed her, Shelley Morrison, has passed at the age of 83.

Shelley Morrison, who played the beloved Rosario on Will & Grace, died Sunday morning at age 83, EW has confirmed. She was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for heart failure after a brief illness. AP first reported her passing.

Morrison starred as Rosario Salazar, Karen Walker’s (Megan Mullally) maid on the first run of Will & Grace. Hailing from El Salvador, Rosario (known as Rosie) had a contentious yet loving relationship with Karen. The popular character appeared in 68 episodes of the comedy but was not featured in the revival, with Morrison declining to return after retiring from acting.

“Shelley’s greatest pride as an actress was in playing the indomitable Rosario, in a comedy series that furthered the cause of social equity and fairness for LGBTQ people,” her publicist, Lori DeWaal, told EW. “She also took pride in portraying a strong, loving yet feisty Latina character. She believed that the best way to change hearts and minds was through comedy.”

“Rosario is one of my all-time favorite characters,” Morrison said recently, according to the AP. “She reminds me a lot of my own mother, who loved animals and children, but she would not suffer fools. It is very significant to me that we were able to show an older, Hispanic woman who is bright and smart and can hold her own.”

Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, and Megan Mulally who starred as Grace Adler, Will Truman, and Karen, respectively, on the show offered their condolences on social media Sunday.

Besides her work on Will & Grace, Shelley had a career that spanned decades. She appeared in many episodes of The Flying Nun as “Sister Sixto,” as well as The Rookies, LaredoCourthouse, and more. In the world of movies, she was featured in films like Three Guns for Texas, Funny Girl with Barbara Streisand, Troop Beverly Hills with Shelley Long, and the 1997 infamous romantic comedyFools Rush In, starring Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry.  Born Rachel Mitrani in New York City’s Bronx borough in 1936, Morrison’s first language was Spanish. She often portrayed Latina characters on screen but was featured in roles of various backgrounds.

We are really praying for her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Rest in peace Shelley, you were loved and will be missed.

Often the pronouns they identify with are “them” and “they” because they are seen as gender neutral. Janelle tweeted the following from her personal account, using a non-binary character from Cartoon Network’s progressive and LGBT friendly animated series, “Steven Universe,” named “Stevonnie.”

Stevonnie is a fusion comprised of Steven Universe, a young boy born with a magical gem that gives him superhuman abilities, and his best friend/love interest Connie Maheswaran, a normal human girl.

The line “I am an experience” is in part quoted from the series when Steven’s mother, Rose Quartz, tells another fusion, Garnet, “you are not one person, you are not two people, you are an experience.” Garnet, in turn, later said the same thing to Stevonnie after Steven and Connie first fused together.

We love Janelle Monae regardless of how she–we mean they–identify! Now, if we can just get another interview with her!

Apparently a Cook County judge over the investigation as ordered Google to hand over a full year’s worth of the actor’s data. Two warrants filed last month in Circuit Court and will allow Google to also retrieve deleted information.

The warrants, filed last month in Circuit Court, sought a trove of documentation from Smollett and his manager’s Google accounts — not just emails but also drafted and deleted messages; any files in their Google Drive cloud storage services; any Google Voice texts, calls and contacts; search and web browsing history; and location data.

Investigators sought a full year’s data — from November 2018 to November 2019 — even though the key events in the controversy took place between late January and late March 2019. Authorities could be looking for any incriminating remarks from Smollett or his manager, especially in the months after State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office abruptly dismissed disorderly conduct charges against the then-“Empire” actor just weeks after his indictment. Smollett, who is African American and openly gay, has declared the dismissal a vindication of his claims that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.

All we can say is this is crazy and bananas! We really hope this information will either vindicate or prove that he orchestrated this attack. Honestly, this has dragged on for too long. The muck and mire around all of this just leaves a sour taste in our mouths. What do you guys think of this latest turn in Jussie’s case? Sound off in the comments’ section below!

Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s bodyguard was spotted holding bottles of the rapper’s own brand of champagne, Ace of Spades, at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

“.@Beyonce and Jay-Z just walked in,” LA Times reporter Amy Kaufman noted on Twitter alongside a photo of the couple standing by their security. “They’re waiting until Kate McKinnon finishes speaking to take their seats.”

She added, “Is their bodyguard carrying bottles of alc for them?”

In the photo, the guard can be seen holding two bottles behind his back, despite one of the official sponsors of the evening being Moët & Chandon.

The rapper spent $200 million in 2014 to own the high-end bubbly Armand de Brignac, which makes Ace of Spades.

The couple was reportedly an hour late to the show on Sunday night. Beyoncé was nominated for best original song for “The Lion King,” but lost to Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

This is such a power move on Jay-Z’s behalf, and not to mention amazing publicity. We are not sure whether he planned for this to become a story, but it is the talk of the town. Anything Jay-Z and Beyonce do is so widely noticed and gone over with a fine toothed comb that we are not surprised this is newsworthy. It is being reported stars like Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez asked to try some of it!

We honestly do not blame them for bringing their own champagne either. If we owned a multi-million dollar champagne company we definitely would not be drinking anyone else’s products either. Kudos to The Carters!
