Violets are blue, water is wet, and apparently ABC’s Roseanne has been LET GO! Yep ABC’s reboot of the hit nineties series starring comedienne, Roseanne Barr, is no more! After 21 years off the air the series returned with a bang; averaging nearly 18 million viewers an episode. Now just as ABC renewed it, the series was cancelled in the same breath thanks to some racist remarks Roseanne made about a former Obama advisor!

ABC has canceled its hit reboot Roseanne following lead Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets about former Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett on Twitter Tuesday.

Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, issued a statement to USA TODAY denouncing Barr’s comment hours after her apology failed to convince many on Twitter, including the show’s consulting producer Wanda Sykes.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” the statement read.

Barr’s comment, which has now been deleted, was sent in response to a tweet that accused Jarrett of helping “hide” misdeeds for the Obama administration.

“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr wrote, using Jarrett’s initials. Jarrett, 61, is African American and worked for Obama from 2009 to 2017.

Barr apologized for the tweet, describing it as “a bad joke.”

Whatever Roseanne thought she saying to be funny, was nothing short of racist and disgusting. It is sad and disheartening that in 2018 African-Americans and Muslims still have to face such prejudice. We really loved having Roseanne and the rest of the cast back on television and now in one failed swoop she has cost them all an amazing opportunity.

We have an idea though. How about they kill her character off the show and rename it “Darlene?” We would love to see how she does has matriarch of the Connor Clan; especially after Sarah Gilbert out her TV mom for her ignorance.

Good riddance Rosie!

They say the setbacks in life are signs you are about to be set up for something amazing and transforming! That defiitely seems to be the case with Deshawn Snow’s transformation from laid back housewife to a certified babe (and MILF)!

real hosuewives of atlanta season one cast

As you recall, Deshawn is one of the original housewives of the Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, but lasted only the first season allegedly because she was “too human” for the show. Shortly thereafter, she and her then husband and former NBA player, Eric Snow, filed for divorce and her life was never the same. Deshawn is now back and from these pictures we can tell she is ready to slay whatever obstacles are standing her way.

Check out a few photos of her from Season 1 of RHOA in 2008 and now!

As co-owners, they’re in good company — rapper Macklemore and his wife, Tricia Davis, former Microsoft executive Terry Myerson and his wife, Katie Myerson, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and his wife, Anu Nadella, are also members of the ownership group.

“Seattle means so much to me and Ciara. We’re fired up about being part of the Sounders for a long, long time, having ownership in the Sounders and continuing to build that winning culture,” Russell Wilson said in a statement. “When I got here in 2012, Seattle was a place that I felt I could call home forever. And obviously because of the Seahawks, and now because of the Sounders, it makes that really come to life. We’re really excited about building that winning culture. This city is a special place.”

Ciara issued a statement of her own, saying, “This is not only a special moment for Russ and I, but for our kids as well. When we walked into the building and our kids were running around with their names on their little jerseys, it meant a lot for so many reasons. It’s an honor to join the Sounders team and have the unique opportunity to represent female ownership within major league sports.”

We are so happy for Ciara and Russell! They are both successful, have a beautiful family, and seem to be winning on so many levels. We love seeing Black Love perforate. What do you guys think of this big news for The Wilsons? Sound off in the comments’ section below!

Amara La Negra (@AmaraLaNegraALN) Praises Beyonce for “Brown Skin Girls,” Cites Blue Ivy As Justification

Beyonce definitely worked wonders on the original tracks she produced for Disney’s 2019 The Lion King remake soundtrack. One of the runaway hit singles from this album is none other than Brown Skin Girls,  a track that celebrates melanin and women of color with darker skin tones. Many felt as though Beyonce, being a lighter skinned woman, should not be able to sing or speak on the magnification or beauty of darker skinned women of color since she knew nothing of their experiences of colorism. Naturally, fans and The BeyHive , have come to her defense, and in that number includes Love & Hip-Hop Miami’s Amara La Negra.

In a recent interview with Kontrol Magazine, Amara states Beyonce as the mother of Blue Ivy, a brown skinned Black girl, being reason enough for her to create a song celebrating them and denouncing colorism. “I feel like people are reading too much into what she [Beyonce] is saying in the song. It’s very empowering and loving. Also, her own daughter is brown skinned, why wouldn’t she want to create something uplifting her. Let’s also not forget her father is dark skinned, she may have other darker skinned family members, and so is her band mate and best friend, Kelly [Rowland]. People just don’t know. Instead of continuously fighting about this issue we should be embracing it, the message of the song, and embracing one another…”

We definitely agree with Amara La Negra on this issue. She has fought against colorism since she was first introduced to the world via reality television and believes in the beauty of all people of color no matter their shade. Beyonce created a beautiful, uplifting some for a group of women who all too often are marginalized. You can catch her full interview with Kontrol Magazine coming soon! Thanks for speaking out Amara!
